who's actually behind cocoome®?

My name is Julia Pötsch.
I'm a mum of two and the founder of cocoome
My children are now 10 and 7 years old. This photo was taken during a shoot for which I was able to borrow this adorable baby from a dear friend. Oh, I tell you – it brought back so many feelings…! 💗

Almost 11 years ago, just a few weeks after my daughter was born, I was at my wit's end. I was told I had a "high-needs baby". Through a friend's tip, I discovered babywearing. At that time, there weren't many options available, and I received many skeptical looks and critical comments. But for us it was perfect! I could meet my baby's needs while also taking care of my own. It was such a beautiful bonding time, and my heart still swells when I think about it today. Thankfully, babywearing has become quite mainstream now.

2 pregnancies, 2 winter babies, 2 babies to carry…
Once again, I faced the challenge of babywearing in winter. My son was born prematurely, so I was especially concerned about keeping him warm while carrying him.

The story of cocoome began.

I thought the best thing would be to give my baby nest warmth while carrying in winter – of course under my jacket. At first it worked because he was premature. But then my jacket got tighter and tighter. Something was missing to cover my baby's back. A connector piece for my jacket, so to speak. The question was just how to attach this "connector piece" to my jacket. So I got some suspender clips and sewed a "connector piece" for my jacket.
I was so happy – because now I could once again be carefree outdoors with my daughter while my "little one" was cozy & protected from the cold and able to join in 🥰

My girlfriends and many other moms were thrilled with this practical solution and wanted it too. That's how the idea became a product.

The countless prototypes involved a lot of time and intensive testing work. Many mums supported me and gave me feedback, input & tips. A heartfelt thank you at this point! 💕

Because I know from my own experience how much space and money is needed for a baby's initial setup, it's important to me to develop products that parents can use in various functions over a longer period of time.

Because happy parents and contented babies are my ultimate goal!
